Support candidates who disclose tax returns, get blocked by Pat Mara

BANHAMMERED

Officially blocked.

Last night I found out I was blocked from following the official Twitter account of Patrick Mara’s campaign for an at-large seat on the DC Council. Although I can’t be certain, perhaps there’s a chance that the Republican’s communications staff wasn’t too happy about my recent post in support of candidates who release their tax returns?

Unsurprisingly, Mara has yet to share his returns. I find it very funny that Mara’s team would block a blogger who’s most popular post is a cat wearing a tie at a birthday party. Additionally hilarious is that, as of last Friday, the DC Office of Campaign finance is investigating Mara for ethically questionable consulting in 2008. First, Mara balks on sharing tax details with the DC electorate, and now questions have emerged about whether he violated campaign finance laws.  Talk about hypocrisy.
